O Rélógio da Vovó

from O Finno by O Finno

subscriber exclusive

about

Cavaquinho-player Marcos Tannuri arranged this classic from Trio Surdina, mixing in a little Bossa nova and beyond here. The arrangement is incredibly intricate and took ages to get right in rehearsal. There are multiple tempo change, various kinds of percussion (including an old style clock) and a few other little surprises. The melody which as written by Garoto, Oswaldo do Accordeon and Fafá Lemos is meant to imitate a grandfather (or grandparents') clock, hence the title in Portuguese "Grandmother's clock."
