about

This is a composition by Moacir Santos who was a true virtuoso on many instruments. He's probably best known for his soprano sax playing however but wrote loads of classics that blend elements of jazz, soul, and American music into a nonetheless definitively Brazilian sound.

"Nanã" is the name of one of the "Orixás" (spiritual deities in the Candomblé religion of Brazil, a syncretic religion of Catholicism and Nigerian Yoruba beliefs).
