The idea behind this tune was to write a piece of music sounding melodically Irish & Scottish but blending modern sounds such as the electric guitar and programming effects. Seán and Finn did a two week tour of Scotland in April 2019 where they worked on music almost every day. This tune really took form during a week teaching at Fèis Rois in Ullapool where both musicians were tutors. Every afternoon after teaching, the two would meet at the hotel where they were staying to compose music and this tune really took shape during those sessions. The title is inspired by the poem “The Cloths of Heaven,” by Irish poet W.B. Yeats, and the amazing half light hues of the most Northern parts of Scotland.

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:

I have spread my dreams under your feet;
