Festivo is a "frevo" composed by the cavaquinho player in O Finno, Marcos Tannuri. Marcos composed this piece as a challenge to himself: the whole melody is chromatic and only moves in half steps. It's brilliant because as chromatic as it sounds, the harmony which is very Western and understandable works perfectly with the chromaticism on top. Marcos has a degree in composition and arranging and has won awards from the city of Rio de Janeiro for his compositions.
